HDPE wax is a high-density, high-drop-point non-oxidized wax. It offers strong external lubrication and high heat resistance, for fast PVC lines and hot-melt applications.
HDPE wax is a hard wax with a linear chain structure, derived from high-density polyethylene. Its high degree of crystallinity gives it a high drop point, high hardness and a sharp melting profile.
Used as an external lubricant, it forms a thin film between the melt and the metal die surface. This film reduces friction and the heat that friction generates; as a result, line speed can be increased and the risk of thermal degradation of the PVC falls.
Its sharp crystallization profile gives a fast set time, so it is preferred on high-speed packaging lines. Its high drop point ensures that the finished bond holds up in hot environments.

The external lubricant level is probably too high. HDPE wax is a strong external lubricant; when overused, it leaves deposits at the die exit and causes surface defects. We recommend reducing the level step by step to find the optimum point.
Working 20–40 °C above the drop point is recommended. Working just above the drop point leads to viscosity fluctuations and inconsistent results.
HDPE wax is supplied in 25 kg PE-lined kraft paper bags (1,375 kg per pallet) or in 500–1,000 kg jumbo bags (FIBC). A 20' container takes approximately 20 tonnes.
