PP Wax Polyethylene Wax (PE Wax) Non-oxidized

PP Wax

PP wax is a polypropylene wax. With a high drop point and excellent compatibility with the PP matrix, it is preferred in polypropylene-based compounds and high-temperature applications.

PP wax is a type of wax made of polypropylene chains, with a markedly higher drop point than PE waxes.

Why PP wax for a PP matrix

An additive that is compatible with the polymer matrix prevents phase separation and migration to the surface. Using PP wax instead of PE wax in polypropylene-based masterbatches, fibers and compounds keeps the additive evenly distributed in the matrix.

The high-temperature advantage

PP processing temperatures are higher than those of PE. A wax with a low drop point loses its function at these temperatures and can generate smoke; PP wax stays stable under these conditions.

How does it work?

Frequently Asked Questions About This Product

Can I use PE wax in my polypropylene formulation?

You can, but it is not ideal. An additive that is compatible with the polymer matrix prevents phase separation and migration to the surface. Using PP wax in PP-based masterbatches, fibers and compounds keeps the additive evenly distributed in the matrix.

Why is the drop point of PP wax higher?

The crystal structure of polypropylene chains differs from that of polyethylene and gives a higher melting temperature. Because PP processing temperatures are also higher than those of PE, this is a necessity: a wax with a low drop point loses its function at that temperature and can generate smoke.

What packaging is PP wax available in?

PP wax is supplied in 25 kg PE-lined kraft paper bags (1,375 kg per pallet) or in 500–1,000 kg jumbo bags (FIBC). A 20' container takes approximately 20 tonnes.

Can I get a technical data sheet for PP wax?

Yes. The values on this page are typical production ranges common in the industry; exact values for a batch are given in the technical data sheet (TDS) and certificate of analysis (CoA). You can request them through the quote form by choosing the "Catalog / TDS / SDS" option.
