N550 carbon black is a low-surface-area carcass grade. It gives rubber compounds excellent dimensional stability, easy processing and good extrusion performance.
N550 carbon black is the most widely used member of the soft grade family. With an iodine adsorption of 43 g/kg it has a low surface area, yet it carries a high oil absorption value of 121 ml/100 g. This pairing makes it the classic choice for extrusion applications.
The combination of high structure and low surface area means that the compound swells little as it leaves the die, the surface is smooth and dimensional tolerances are held, all with low heat build-up. Brake diaphragms, seals and profiles need exactly this behavior.
N550 is also widely used in black masterbatch and plastic pipe production; it delivers adequate performance for coloring and UV protection at an economical cost.

Because it combines a low surface area (40 m²/g) with high structure (OAN 121 ml/100 g): the compound swells little as it leaves the die, the surface is smooth, dimensional tolerances are held, and all this comes with low heat build-up.
Yes. It is widely used in black masterbatch and plastic pipe production and delivers adequate performance for coloring and UV protection at an economical cost.
We offer two options: a 1,000 kg double-valve PP-PE jumbo bag and a 21 kg two-ply kraft paper-PE bag. A pallet of bags holds 1,155 kg of product; a 20' container takes 9,240 kg and a truck 20,790 kg. With jumbo bags, these figures are 10,000 kg and 22,000 kg respectively.
