Carbon black pellets on a bench at a cable plant
FIG. 01 · N772 · Iodine adsorption number 30 ± 5 g/kg

With an iodine adsorption of 30 g/kg and a pour density of 520 kg/m³, N772 carbon black is the lowest-surface-area, highest-density grade in the range. It belongs to the semi-reinforcing class: it makes a clear mechanical contribution to rubber but does not stiffen it as much as the hard grades.

The elasticity advantage

Low surface area lets the polymer chains move more freely. The result is high elasticity and low compression set. In seals, bellows and parts under constant compression, this behavior translates directly into product life.

Applications

Extruded parts, belts and hoses, molded rubber components, plastics applications.

How does it work?

Frequently Asked Questions About This Product

What does semi-reinforcing mean for N772?

It makes a clear mechanical contribution to rubber but does not stiffen it as much as the hard grades. With an iodine adsorption of 30 g/kg, it is the lowest-surface-area grade in the range; the polymer chains move more freely, which results in high elasticity.

What products is N772 used in?

Extruded parts, belts and hoses, molded rubber components and plastics applications. In seals and parts under constant compression, low compression set is an advantage.

What packaging is N772 available in?

We offer two options: a 1,000 kg double-valve PP-PE jumbo bag and a 25 kg two-ply kraft paper-PE bag. A pallet of bags holds 1,375 kg of product; a 20' container takes 11,000 kg and a truck 22,000 kg. With jumbo bags, these figures are 10,000 kg and 22,000 kg respectively.

Does N772 come with a certificate of analysis and a safety data sheet?

Yes. Every shipment is sent with a certificate of analysis (CoA) for that batch, issued by an ISO/IEC 17025 accredited laboratory. We send the safety data sheet (SDS) on request; if you would like to see a sample report before ordering, you can ask for one through the quote form.
