Tires
Choosing carbon black for tires means choosing a structural component, not a filler. Tread…
N660 carbon black has a lower surface area than N550 and a medium-low structure. It keeps good flexibility even at high hardness levels: the classic choice for carcass and sidewall compounds.
With an iodine adsorption of 36 g/kg and a pour density of 440 kg/m³, N660 carbon black sits in the middle of the soft grades. Its most distinctive feature is that it keeps its flexibility even at high hardness levels.
A tire sidewall bends and straightens with every wheel revolution. In a high-hysteresis compound, this continuous deformation generates heat and eventually initiates cracks. The low surface area of N660 limits heat build-up, while its medium-low structure provides the required stiffness.

A sidewall bends and straightens with every wheel revolution. The low surface area of N660 (35 m²/g) limits heat build-up, while its medium-low structure provides the required stiffness. This balance delays fatigue cracking.
N660 has a lower surface area (35 m²/g versus 40 for N550) and a lower structure (OAN 90 ml/100 g versus 121 for N550). Its pour density is higher (440 kg/m³). The result is lower heat build-up and higher filler capacity.
We offer two options: a 1,000 kg double-valve PP-PE jumbo bag and a 25 kg two-ply kraft paper-PE bag. A pallet of bags holds 1,375 kg of product; a 20' container takes 11,000 kg and a truck 22,000 kg. With jumbo bags, these figures are 10,000 kg and 22,000 kg respectively.
