LDPE Wax Polyethylene Wax (PE Wax) Non-oxidized

LDPE Wax

LDPE wax is a soft, low-density wax with a branched chain. For applications that need flexibility, long open time and low-temperature performance.

White LDPE wax flakes poured from a paper bag onto a bench
FIG. 01 · LDPE Wax · Drop point 100 – 115 °C

Because of its branched chain structure, LDPE wax has lower crystallinity, a lower drop point and markedly higher flexibility than HDPE wax.

When to choose LDPE

LDPE wax is chosen when the end product must stay flexible, when brittleness at low temperatures is unacceptable and when hot-melt applications need a longer assembly window. In candle formulations it is also used to control shrinkage without making the candle excessively hard.

How does it work?

Frequently Asked Questions About This Product

My adhesive becomes brittle in the cold. Will LDPE wax solve this?

Very likely, yes. HDPE waxes with high crystallinity can cause brittleness at low temperatures. The branched chain structure of LDPE wax provides lower crystallinity and markedly higher flexibility.

How is LDPE wax used in a candle formulation?

Added to paraffin at 1–5%, it raises hardness and drop point and reduces shrinkage and cracking. If you want shrinkage control without making the candle excessively hard, LDPE is preferred over HDPE.

What packaging is LDPE wax available in?

LDPE wax is supplied in 25 kg PE-lined kraft paper bags (1,375 kg per pallet) or in 500–1,000 kg jumbo bags (FIBC). A 20' container takes approximately 20 tonnes.

Can I get a technical data sheet for LDPE wax?

Yes. The values on this page are typical production ranges common in the industry; exact values for a batch are given in the technical data sheet (TDS) and certificate of analysis (CoA). You can request them through the quote form by choosing the "Catalog / TDS / SDS" option.
